Interesting information

Mr. Morgan, superintendent of SAU-16 schools spoke at the Board of Selectmen meeting last Monday evening.  His primary purpose was to report on the high marks our schools got for safety and how well it did on a recent "active shooter" drill.  He commended the Exeter Police and Fire Departments on the support given in this endeavor.  This is good news for parents, teachers, staff and children.
Upon closing he passed along his thanks on behalf of the 6,000 students and 1,200 employees of our SAU-16 schools.  That yields a ratio of 5 to 1 which is an interesting figure to have for comparison purposes.  Not sure whether this is a reasonable ratio, but thought it worth passing along to those who did not hear the remark.

  1. "This is good news..." This is a personal opinion, not factual information, which you previously claimed to provide: "However, as the Blogger who set up the site to provide factual information to Exeter citizens, I have a responsibility to insure balance on the site." Saying something is "good" is not balanced; it is subjective.

Obviously, you can say whatever you want, but please don't conflate opinions with fact. Many people are convinced that EPD are overpaid and hostile to Exeter residents, as they (a) mostly look to pull over drivers to hassle them for a "DWI hunter" award (read: they are hunting _people_) and (b) hassle restaurants who don't play ball with them (think Merrill's and Front Row).

More specifically, claiming that it is "good" that children are becoming conditioned to live in the police state toward which EPD is happy to provide is a strange opinion.

    1. It is troubling that the new normal is "active shooter drills" in our schools and public places. I am extremely suspicious of why and how these drills are becoming common place.
If the implied rationale for these drills includes prevention of a Sandy Hook CT Elementary School type of massacre then you know that the foundation of the logic is an outright lie and that motivation for these drills is sinister. If that statement comes as a shock then be alert to the fact that forensic evidence to support the main stream media massacre story has never been disclosed by the local or the State Police of CT.
This blog is all the more critical for information dissemination because the main stream sources of information can not be trusted and in fact are severely corrupted, Thank you Publius for this local forum.

    2. Yes, you are correct. Sandy Hook is another historic fraud pulled over on America and the world. Millions of dollars are being spent by the Feds to keep the cooperative theatre players of Newton, CT and now elsewhere content. The fact that the public accepted this fraud so easily led to the equally fraudulent events of April 15, 2013 in Boston where citizens were ordered to stay in their houses. The English Crown is alive and well....in Washington, DC.

  2. I believe what Publius reported is factual, i.e., the SAU Superintendent Morgan praised the police and fire depts. Whether or not you agree with Morgan is another matter. I don't see where you get that Publius was expressing an opinion, other than the fact that we have 1 employee for every 5 students in the SAU.

  3. Can someone point me to a public reference that corroborates "1200 employees"?

  4. I am drawing a big question mark on the 1200 employee reference:
SAU 16 has approximately 530 professional teachers, 35 administrators (which includes principals, assistant principals, directors and central office administrators) and 620 non-certified support staff members(which includes paraprofessionals, maintenance, custodians, secretaries, etc.).

  5. Folks tend to think in terms of "student/teacher" ratio. You have confirmed Mr. Morgan's figure for the total number of employees.
