Probably the most ludicrous provision required Parks &
Rec to refer any non-life threatening sports injury to Convenient MD in
Stratham. First of all there is the impropriety of such a demand and then
there's the liability issue of the Town making medical referrals. And how do
you think one of the Town's top 3 taxpayers, Exeter Hospital, would feel about the
Town referring injuries to an out of town for-profit business?
Fortunately, Julie joined Don and Anne in terminating this agreement. Dan, and of course Bobble-Head, made a motion to re-negotiate the agreement, but withdrew the motion when it was clear that he would lose. Never fear, he plans to bring it up again.
With these negotiating skills, it's not hard to understand why the Town got such a bad deal on the water sales agreement with Stratham. Can you imagine what the sewer sales agreement is going to look like?

Until residents of Exeter make themselves heard, our Town Manager, Dan Chartrand and Nancy Bellanger will continue to disregard RSAs and town policy to the benefit of their personal agenda. This is not their town to run as they please. Why don't more residents show up at Board of Selectmen meetings and voice their displeasure during the public comment period?
ReplyDeleteThe push for Economic Development at any price has now moved to give economic advantage to an out of town business and give economic disadvantage to our largest employer in town. Don't worry they have taken notice. That and marginalizing any town volunteers that voices a different opinion than them makes for a sad state of affairs.
ReplyDeleteObviously, Town Dictator Dean is earning his loot (aka, "salary") by trying to grant monopoly privileges to CMD at the expense of potential competitors. I wonder, however, why is there no similar outrage at the monopoly of force, i.e., the EPD? Chief 100k Kane and his comrades have the complete monopoly of the protective services in this town. No one is allowed to compete, and we are all forced to pay them. Maybe CMD should just call its employees "public servants" and the contract will be upheld.
